More about Portuguese translation The Portuguese language developed in the Western Iberian Peninsula from Latin brought there by Romans starting in the
III century BC. It began to become different from other Romance languages after the fall of the Western Roman Empire and the invasions in the
V century, and started to be used in written documents around the 9th century.
In 13th century the Portuguese had become a mature language with its own literature,
known as Galician-Portuguese. Since then, Portuguese translation has existed. In
several aspects such as phonology, morphology, syntax, etc it is
basically the result of a natural evolution of Vulgar Latin, with some minor influences from other languages.
