Possessive pronouns in Portuguese follow the gender and singular or plural form of the noun. Possessive pronouns do not follow the speaker’s gender, but the gender of what the speaker is talking about.
Example: Ela está com meu casaco. (She has my coat.)
Casaco is a male noun, therefore the possessive pronoun has to come in the male form.
